Phone Cards to Call Taiwan
Chinese New Years is just a few days away and being Chinese myself I know the importance of calling family and wishing everyone a healthy and prosperous New Year. For calling Taiwan I use phone cards from a company called Nobelcom. I’ve been using them for years and they are #1 ranked phone card company here at Phone Cards Reviews. By using phone cards to call Taiwan I have saved money
I’m also going to show you how to choose the right phone cards for your needs. Most people make mistakes by choosing the wrong card. First thing you need to know is that phone cards have different rates for land lines and mobile lines. You’ll see in a moment what I’m talking about. Below is a screen shot I took from Nobelcom’s website.
As you can see there are 4 different phone cards to call Taiwan with different call per minute rates. So you’re probably wondering which one to choose? Well it’s really simple. The only fee Nobelcom charges for phone cards is maintenance fees and nothing else. But there is a way for you to avoid getting a maintenance fee deducted off the value of your phone card which I will show you. If you look at each “Phone Card Details” you will see:
- Hello Taiwan – .99¢ weekly maintenance fee
- Talk Taiwan – .69¢ weekly maintenance fee
- Call Taiwan – .49¢ monthly maintenance fee
- 1 Second Taiwan – No maintenance fee
You see that the lower the call per minute rate the cards has the higher the maintenance fee.
So the way you choose a card is by first figuring out how many calls you’ll be making during a period of time. Say for instance if you know you’ll be making a high volume of calls within a 1 week period then it’s best to choose either the “Hello Taiwan” or “Talk Taiwan” phone card. If you manage to finish off the calls within a week or two week period then you have taken advantage of the low rates and fully or partially avoided the maintenance fees. However, if you do not use up the credits on these cards, then the weekly maintenance fee will quickly reduce the remaining credit of your phone card to call Taiwan.
If you know that you’ll be making a low to high volume of calls over a long period of time, then it’s best to choose either the “Call Taiwan” or “1 Second Taiwan” phone card. As you can see these two phone cards give you an adequate time to use throughout a longer period of time.
Nobelcom also offers lower phone card rates to call the city of Taipei:
Remember I mentioned earlier that phone card rates are different for land land lines and mobile lines. Using a phone card to call a mobile line cost slightly more because the calls are made on a differerent line. The good news is Nobelcom carries phone cards with the best rates for dialing to a international mobile number. You can see the rates below:
Choosing phone cards from here is the same as choosing a phone card to call land line because each have the same details, just different rates.
That’s basically it, as you can see it’s really easy to choose a phone card to call Taiwan. All you need is just a little bit of know how and you’re on your way to saving even more money.
